Went to Pulau Ubin today to cycle & stuff. First time there...eh, you know, I used to think it was just a jungle of an island with only one or two huts every 1km. Haha...I duno. It was so bustling..!! So many food places, so many bicycle shops, so many doggies & kitties...!!!! WAIIII...!!!! So kawaii....
Saw this kitty...a white one, and it blinked SOOOOOOO uber cutely...!!!! omg, it was so small but kinda dirty...tsk, poor thing ah, no one to take care of it. THEN when we were renting bikes, like...4-5 dogs came out of nowhere and starting running around like crazy. omg. so cute lah. can kiss them...!!! Ah so cute so cute...
Ah, yeah whatever. Ate at changi there first before going to pulau ubin...the hell, so hungry...maybe it was the damn long bus ride. Ehehe, the boat ride was so freakin fun sa..!!! From the way lydia said it I thought I was gonna throw up all over the ferry like some drunk, but it was kinda steady...hm, $2 for goin there and $2 to go back. Eh eh eh eh...crazy, so exxxxxx...hah, better not complain otherwise *someone* might read this and I hafta go to court...hmph. So restricted. Like shit ah, I will say wadever I wanna say. Phff...
Oh we like...climbed onto the deck thingie and it was the best feeling ever...have the wind in your hair and stuff. If we sat inside the seawater would come splooooshing onto us. Kinda fun, though.
Eh, okies, we rented the bikes for $3 a day (ah well, we realised much later that the cheapest was $2 a day) and we were offffff....!!! Hah, I was never good at maps...bleh, geography...so lydia had the map most of the time. Duno where we went. Was just going going going to the end or something...passed by this police place. Then...aahhh, we found the sea. Then. The handphones started going beep beep from um, m'sian phone networks.
Ehhh....stayed there and took pics for less than 10 mins and we were off again.
Wanted to find the damn resort, but it took us sooo long. But it was worth it...we practically cycled most of the paths. Wah, so freakin tired. Especially going uphill. Argh....but it was so funny. Ju hiang was like *squeal* when she couldn't peddle up anymore and *squeal* when her bike went over a tiny dent in the road and *squeal squeal squeeeaaal*..for almost any sort of mishap that happened to her.
Hmph, the slopes were so hard the climb. Probably cos we didn't know how to work the gears then. A lot of pushing involved anyways. Hah, it was so damn funny, seeing like...vanessa or lydia or ju desperately pushing on the peddles uphill and going zigzag unconsciously...panting like they were gonna drop and give up any second. Didn't give it enough speed at the foot... As I said, alot of pushing was involved.
Somewhere along the line, the handles of my bike were going bonkers. I thought maybe the basket was just loose or something. Ah, this foreboding little fault that I really didn't give a damn about becomes a true terror later on.
We were hit with several forks in the road, and unfortunately for us, lydia was holding the map. So, obviously, chaos ensues. Hahaha...just jk. But yeah, we took dramatic wrong turns everywhere.
The worst was down this narrow dirt path. We were a few metres from the clearing when *GASP* dogs started to bark like siao. We were about to bolt in the opposite direction. I mean, I had my bike turned and all in a sec. No canine came running towards us with teeth bared, which was a tremendous relief. Lydia went forward cos she was sure it was the right path, and we um, waited to see if it really was the right one. Upon closer inspection we realised the dogs were caged. But omg omg they were clawing at the bars so ferociously I was sure they would come loose and kill us all.
We stumbled onto private property. Whoopie.
And. My bike chose to malfunction at such a dire time. I really...really, have no luck. Oh wait I do. Shit luck. The whole handle bar came off. Sick. Right after that, the owner of this private property came along. I couldn't cycle off. So bussstted.
But hey, we got him to fix the bike..!! Um, he used a rotting wooden plank thing to slam it back in place. It was soooo tight after that. Heh. Kampong method always works. BUT. The bike wasn't straight so the handle had to be turned more towards the left for the front wheel to go the right way -_-;;
Went back to exchange the bike; I got a....mountain bike...!!! It was twice as fast. Phew.
Finally got to the damn resort after asking some people. Had to unlatch a fence thingie to get to it. Aaahh...it was so damn fun. There was really no one on the small beach when we got there. Paid $7 for a boat to kayak. It was supposed to be $7 per head but we were bloody lucky. The girl just allowed $7 for all 4 of us cos um...supposedly her boss was not around. Heh. So...we had to take turns. There was no way she would have let 4 people clamber onto the puny boat and topple and bulp bulp buulllppp...
Dammit. My arms and palms are RAW. Yay, I can actually row a kayak now without stupidity. Oh but I'm still not aware of my surroundings...almost smacked lydia in the head with the oar. Piiiaaaakk..!!!
Wah...tried the banana raft thingie too. I think we weren't allowed but we did it anyways. Oh wow saw fishies under the seafood restaurant right opposite the shore. Saw a huge eel too. Ya know, the one in the little mermaid. Yup. So big and long. So cool yet so gross.
Played the see-saw and swing with ju hiang while the other 2 were somewhere kayaking...wah damn the swing was so friggin small...um about 30cm off the ground only. My butt sooooo hurts...from the bike, mostly.
After an hour or so, we went in pursuit for the blue quarry (spl?) thing. Which we didn't find in the end. This ang mo said go straight turn left and find a dirt path which will lead us there. Found another guy along the way who said turn back go left and tada there it would be. Oookay. Found a dirt path. Which yielded us nothing but an eternal nothingness. So we came back in the end.
On the way back I made a discovery. There's a SWING at the playground outside lydia's place...!!! Buahahaha..!!! Wanna go there everyday!! I think it must be yeeeaars since I sat on a proper one. So fun. Now my feet scrape the ground if I don't hold them up. Now I can kick off twice as high than before. The feeling of swinging all the way up is just unbelievable for me, even to this day when yea, I'm 17.
Aah, so guess we didn't have time in the end to go collect jay chou's cd. Sobs...me n van preordered it. Typical. Too tired anyway. Soooo tired. Wah, long way back home. Loooong way. Drop dead tired. My thighs were stinging with fresh pain. My arms were almost limp. My butt suffered a worse tragedy. So bloody painful. But it was so freakin worth it.
Got some pics, but I lost the wire for my phone so, there. Lydia's got the cam. But I'm too tired to put them up anyway. I know my everywhere will be aching like hell tomorrow. Need to sleep. Need to fight off my insomnia.
