I finished the entire 74 episode series Monster last night. Ok, so. It was..hm.......
BLOODY BRILLIANT.
Haa, but really, I was expecting the ending to be clear of mystery and for once just leave the viewer with plain, simple, hard facts and put me out of mah MISERY xD
Ok, but yesh, everything is good and solved. The very last episode even shows a little important tidbit of what happened that day at The Three Frogs. Yesh, you heard me right. Three Frogs.
Oh, wth it's raining again. Rained all night, rained all day...I feel so dreary. But yaay, ytd got to hang out with old pals, so im feelin much better than I did during the wkend.
Anyways, yeah, Monster is really good. It's a pity not everyone knows about it.

So once again, history repeats itself and Tenma saves Johan again. PHEW, I was so friggin worried Johan will die...In the beginning, I didn't mind, especially cos his aim was to uh, destroy the world and whatnot and even I don't want that xD
But then, SIGH. It wasn't really Johan's fault. Kinda. He just took his sister's memories and blahdiblablah. Maybe twins have some freaky tendency to switch minds and stuff.
And wth, Johan really enjoys dressing like his sister...even sexier than his sister lolol. Omg, I mean, short skirt and HEELS..?? Mmm...at least he has the legs to carry it off xDD
...he even started dressing as a girl when he was a little kiddy. omg, weird hobby. But he looks so cute!! And I think he has far better dress sense than his sis xD...rly rly.

Johan~!!! I kinda luff him =] He's psycho, incredibly manipulative, ingenius, creepy...and a really superb crossdresser xD
Johan doesn't appear as often, so Dr. Tenma will probably be the most handsome guy you will see throughout the series xD lolzzz...
He starts off pretty innocent, and sometimes it makes me wanna slap his face. But he quickly becomes a more mature character with a dark streak, even. Throughout the 10+ years in the series, I think he hardly even ages xD, and that's good right? The only diff would be the unshaven look which makes him kinda manly/sexy, me thinks.
But my mind is usually on that one-way track so don't take heed of what I'm babbling xD
His bravery, selflessness, and kind heart really made me like him, even though I thought I would never be able to appreciate this sort of character. Even though he's so friggin kind, he remains utterly realistic, unlike alot of other anime characters. I SO adore him.
Hm...since I'm so biased I won't be talking about Anna xD...she's Johan's twin sister, The End. Oh, she plays a super super impt part in the plot. There.

Ahh, anyhoo. When I read the many restrictions for the comic artist competition by mda, I just...felt like I was at a dead end. Like, DEAD.
No blood, no foul language, no homosexual activity, no incest, no drugs or guns 'in a favourable light', no insensitivity to religious groups etc etc. Everything is fine, just the no blood/fightings part =(
I was so stuck. But after 2 grueling nights I came up with a plot that suited Fantasy. It was supposed to be Horror, but that was probably cos of the influence from Monster, so...

I hope I get chosen...but then, I'll have to do double work..or TRIPLE. Since there's gonna be school, internship, and the comic. Dead. But this is a RISK im willing to TAKE xD...
More like, my mum bludgeoned me into entering. Too bad the prize money ain't for anything else but the final production of the comic. Dots. I don't think I need so much money...for what? I doubt I'll be hiring people to do the work for me, unless I'm really desperate. Since I started it, I feel like I should be the one seeing it through to the end.

I've been..a little obsessed about this anime, Monster, they call it. I've heard about it since a loooong time ago, but the title just didn't cut it for me, and I had no patience for drama anime then. But now. omG I was missing out on a good thing.
Well......Monster ain't as loud or popular as Deathnote, another suspense-horror-thriller thing. But really, it's in a league of its own. I've never seen an anime delve into such deep depths of psychological human behaviour. It's entrancing and impressive. And I've never seen that much effort put into keeping the character design CONSISTANT throughout.
Wheee blood~!!! Um, no, not really a good thing.
This is Johan. 10 times more psycho than Light Yagami will EVER be. Are all cute guys born psycho or what?
Since japanese folks can't pronounce the letter J for some odd reason (SOB, they'll NEVER be able to call me properly), they keep pronouncing it as 'Yohan'...which...sounds sexier every time they say it.
Yesh, Monster is seriously, one of THE best anime out there. Plot-wise. Animation and art are really good as well, distinct style, complex theories and teh shit. THIS, is why I have increased respect for Madhouse Studio.
Srsly, about 5/6 of the episodes I already watched made my heart STOP in some way, and I find myself gripping the edge of my chair, screaming omgomgomgOMG NO WAY.
It feels like watching a serial-psycho-killer hollywood movie. Or a German version of CSI. No, scratch that..it's WAY better.
But really really, I feel that this anime should have been a live-action movie or something. It's SO GOOD.
Ok, jiaying shuddap now. Lemme start again, more coherently.
The story starts out with Dr Tenma (main character) as a surgeon..who's engaged to his director's daughter. So..Conflict: his Director keeps transferring him in the middle of operations to operate on the more...'significant' peoples. Like, he gets an order to operate on some VIP when he's supposed to be operating on a dying old man.
One night, a family was found murdered in their mansion. They had foster twins. The boy had a bullet to his head, and his sister was standing in front of him, looking totally petrified and stoned. Tenma was to operate on the kid when he arrived at the hospital, then before he even started, some fat dude came in and told him he was to operate on the heart-attacked Mayor. Sweet.
So, after a grueling battle between the Director's orders and his beliefs, he set his priorities straight. He won't take shit no mo~
He operated on the kiddy, whose name is Johan. And Johan LIVED!!
This is Johan, about say, 10 years after the operation. And. He's become some sort of serial-killer-kid-psychopath-creep. Nice move, Doctor Tenma.
After the first 2 episodes I think, the story veers away from Tenma's hospital scenes to some sort of macabre horror suspense thriller thing. Yeah, ok, I'm SO good at describing things -__-
Anyways, a WHOLE lota shit happens from there.
The Director and 2 other fat staff members are found dead. Poisoned by candy. Candy they stole from one of Johan's get-well presents.
At first, I thought, OMG someone out there is trying to poison Johan to get rid of the whole family. Then...ah shits, wadyaknow. The night before or whenever, Dr Tenma was in the sleeping Johan's room, complaining to him about how he wished the Director was DEAD!! I wish that man was DEAD!!
Drama. Suspense.
See, somehow this anime is more suited to a live-action thriller movie.
Ok so, it doesn't sound nice when I tell it. Just gotta watch it to know. I might have given away some spoilers, I duno. Anything I say beyond my crappy summary is a spoiler. Monster is refreshingly good. I am SO hooked.
Now I'm at episode 29 and going. 29 out of 74 I think O_o...craps. Wonder if I'll watch it to the end.
I really wanna know what becomes of Johan and Tenma in the end. I mean, Tenma totally ruined his life by dropping everything he had to pursue that kid. He lost everything even before that. So poor thing, watching him in the first few episodes =(
Crocodile tears? True sincerity? Who bloody knows. Everything is just WRONG about this sweet shounen xD...

Maybe he DOES have 2 personalities residing in him, that's what I was inclined to believe after watching that episode. But...actually...maybe he's just really smart and manipulative, as he's totally proven himself to be.

In the recent episodes I've watched, they finally shone some light on what Johan's been up to, which I'm SO grateful for. Wth, wadyaknow, he's a Uni student, majoring in economics and law O_o...gawd, SAVE his SOUL. It's just WRONG.
And...he's doing some fancy research on child abuse and the rights of a child. He's even in charge of some kiddies as a part time job or wadever. Oh goodness. I was so, 'Oh shit, he can't be allowed near children!! Someone HELP!!' xD
Well, he and his twin sis were orphans, brought up in seperate orphanages. Watch the anime, and you'll understand why he's researching on child rights and the like. Yeah, you guessed it, but it's far FAR deeper than you will ever think. *GRINZ*
Johan!! *glomps* You won't kill Dr Tenma, ne? He SAAAVVVEED yoooou. Give him a little kissie!!
